Okay, so I have some time before work and, though it's like 2 weeks late lol, I figured I'd sit down and FINALLY share the rest of my vacation. The details of the first two days can be found in this entry, which I wrote while I was there. (Keep in mind that this entry will be LONG, 'cause I tend to put in every detail *lol*.) Last time I wrote was that Tuesday night. The next day, Wednesday, we went to the beach. I'd never been to one before, so of course I was way psyched about it. Oceanside was beautiful, and the beach felt really good. Once we all got settled and whatnot I went for a walk up the beach towards this big pier, and I walked down the pier as well. I loved it so much, just walking while the tide came in every so often. The pier was pretty cool too, my feet started hurting though since I forgot my sandals but I didn't want to go back for them lol, so I just toughed it out.
After that I went back and ran into the waves for a bit. The salt water took some getting used to (I still can remember that taste lol), but it was a lot of fun. We left not long after the tide broke waay too close, getting a bunch of stuff wet, and went to In & Out Burgers for dinner. I thought that place was so cool. The menu was really short and to the point, and the food rocked. I thought it was so good I even got more fries! Once we were done there we went back to Mom's house, and I took a shower (aagh I can still feel the sand... lol icky) and then watched "The Butterfly Effect", which I thought was great (who knew Ashton Kutcher could pull off being a dramatic actor?) and then checked my mail and went to sleep. Thursday, we went to LegoLand. I was so excited just being there. I kinda chickened out on going on the rollercoasters, but I know I probably would've been scared anyways so it's all for the better. I ended up getting a really cool keychain for my dad (which he thought was sooo cool) and bought a little Lego person keychain of Harry Potter. It's so awesome, you should see it! After that we were supposed to go to Ruby's, but they were remodeling so we went to TGI Friday's. I'd never been there before, but I liked it. The food was really good... I should go to the one in Boise sometime! Just like the last couple nights, we watched some TV when we got back, then I checked my mail and went to bed. And on Friday... we went to Los Angeles!!! I was all happy and whatnot, but I tried to hide my giddiness so I didn't seem like a tourist *lol*. First we went shopping on Melrose, where I bought a really cool Stevie Nicks poster. After an hour or so we went and ate at this place called Johnny Rockets. It was like a 50s-themed diner, and you could eat outside so it was really cool. After lunch, they showed me the Sunset Strip as well as the Hollywood sign (which I tried to get a pic of but didn't, unfortunately) and Hollywood Bvd. At first I didn't want to get out my camera until I saw the hundreds of people who had one themselves, so I went camera happy. I got pics of a bunch of stars on the walk of fame including Elton John and FLEETWOOD MAC (particularly happy about that one lol), and I also got a pic of the front of Graumann's as well as a couple pics of handprints (Marilyn Monroe and Joan Crawford, just to name a couple). I was so psyched... but forgot to take a pic of Duran Duran's star. Guess I'll have to try again some other time... lol. So then we headed up Santa Monica Bvd. (yes, just like in the Sheryl Crow song, which I was singing in my head the entire way) and went though Beverly Hills, as well as West Hollywood (Westwood, as my friend says) and Wilshire until we got into Santa Monica. We parked and walked around this little outdoor plaza (I think it was called the Third Street Promenade?), where we got something to eat at this Italian restaurant. That was the best pizza I've had in a long time too... I barely ate half of it and was already full. Mom showed me the Santa Monica Pier (from a distance though, I didn't feel like walking out) and then we browsed some of the shops in the little plaza. I found a Swatch shop (didn't buy one, those things are way expensive) as well as some really cool Converses (which I now wish I'd bought). So after browsing around there for quite some time, we headed back to Murrieta. It was a ton of fun, and I was so psyched to see everything. When we got back I repacked my luggage to make room for all my new stuff (except for my Stevie Nicks poster which wouldn't fit) and then got some sleep. Saturday, we were supposed to go to another 50s diner in San Diego, but there was a big parade happening so we went to the Hard Rock Café instead. Mom and Ralph told me to ask the lady if they had any Fleetwood Mac memorobilia, which they did... oh boy they did! Not only did they have a guitar that Lindsey Buckingham had used, but they had one of Stevie Nicks' dresses from the "Little Lies" video, as well as some promo stuff and a couple tourbooks. I was just completely giddy, you'd have thought I met Stevie herself or something. So, after I took bunches of pics, I ordered my food and then went and bought a Hard Rock shirt. Then I ate, and after we all finished they took me to this really cool outdoor mall. Unfortunately, not long after we got there we had to go so I could get to the airport and check in and stuff. In conclusion... my vacation was an absolute blast. I feel like I owe so much to Mom and Ralph for letting me stay with them, and taking me all those places. I had a great time... just absolutely awesome. Now, to plan next summer's vacation. Hawaii sounds good... better start saving up!
